The Cities and Villages of Kojan

The island chains of Kojan are steeped in mysticism and shrouded in ancient tradition. From dense jungles which have swallowed entire cities to the mist-shrouded mountains hiding forgotten monasteries, the Kojan lands are rich in history and offer ample opportunity to an adventurer quick of wit or sword. Great artifacts lay undisturbed in the ruins beyond the imperial city of Tanvu, where Kojani humans and half elves work side by side trying to restore the glory of their city. With powerful battlements and crude domiciles, the port city of Martok is home to the cunning orcs and goblins who are willing to help any adventurer part with their gold. Hidden away in the jungle, the wood elves and their raki allies have created a sanctuary, Caial Brael, where they hone their skills against the savage dwellers of the inner island. Tanvu The imperial town of Tanvu sits on several steppes that rise above the harbor in the northern Fivefold Plains. Large stone walls house the city’s guild halls, religious center and palace, while the residential buildings fan out across the steppes in all directions. The celestial hills shoot straight out of the ground rising hundreds of meters before ending in a flat plateau on top. Tanvu exists as a feudal town supported by fishing and textile exports and is the starting town for humans and half-elves. Strange portals have been cropping up near the harbor recently and the emperor ordered the craftsman and sages to erect magical totems to provide protection. Long have the ulvari fiends harassed the peoples of Kojan, and their attacks grow stronger with each season. Thestran Human As the dominant race on Thestra, the influence of the humans is felt on all corners of the continent. They lack the size of the lesser giants, the life span of the elves or the sturdy resilience of the dwarves but they make up for it with an overwhelming desire to succeed, a bold tenacity and perhaps most importantly, the ability to adapt. After the invading armies of undead razed their home city of Targonor, the humans moved north and rebuilt, founding the giant fortress city of New Targonor. This bastion of human achievement protects not only the humans but all the races of Thestra. Varanjar The Varanjar, or barbarians as they are called by many, are closely related to the humans of Thestra. While larger and stronger than most humans, their features remain similar. It is often said that hundreds of years ago the Varanjar were themselves humans who left their brethren for a more simple life in the mountains of the eastern Thestra. The validity of that claim has yet to be established and while physically, they may most closely resemble the humans it is the lesser giants, with whom they share a home in the mountain village of Halgarad, that they have found a common interest. They are hard working, sturdy and brave. They live their lives close to the land and live in a predominantly tribal society. The Varanjar have been known to be Warriors, Rogues, Shamans and Druids. --High Elf Noble, beautiful, haughty and arrogant, for thousands of years the majestic elves defined Thestran civilization. Though after the great breaking nearly a thousand years ago, they were hurt perhaps the most of all the races. Without walls, it would seem a susceptible target to attacks but few have had the courage to try. mp3 players High elves have been known to be Paladins, Dread Knights, Rangers, Rogues, Bards, Clerics, Blood Mages, Sorcerers, Druids and Necromancers. Thestra Lore

Introducing Thestra, one of Telon's several continents and home to Men, Elves, Dwarves, and other playable races (each of which will be introduced over time). As we officially unveil Vanguard's other playable races and additional points of interest, we'll update our maps accordingly. Thestra is the birthplace of adventurers who cling to dreams of cleansing their land of danger, wresting ancient treasure from the grip of fearsome enemies, and restoring the land's lost knowledge, power and pride. The occasional survivors of expeditions into the depths of Thestra return with stories of jagged mountains, sheer cliffs, dense forests, stagnant swamps teeming with untold perils, and even islands rumored to hold precious resources and hidden treasures. The Abandoned Solider - I am thankful to have heard from you again. Rest assured that I am watching my back as well, though I sense no threat from the people here. The humans in the area seem unconcerned with my questions of their past, making clear that they have only lived here for little more than two centuries – well recorded in our histories. Burgen Bralund - The bird landed gracefully atop a large rock. Its head tilted slightly to the side, taking in its surroundings. It sat atop a large hill. The Widow's Veil Mountains loomed imposingly over the western horizon and rolling foothills stretched out into the east. It was early in the afternoon, though dark clouds sat heavily in the sky. A cool breeze swept over the hills. It raced smoothly in and out of the many valleys, gliding through the tall green grass before winding briskly up into higher ground. Chronicle of the Shieldbearer - I completed the journey a week ago, but, as you have asked of me, I have not written to you until I have found something of worth. I know that you have long thought on a language that is older than any that we have seen prior to the Cataclysm, and I believe I have found it for you. Six scrolls, held bound in ancient leather and bronze, had thin sheets of hammered brass in between the leaves. The lettering upon them was faded red and limned in places with gold ink that flaked off before our eyes. The scrolls were recovered from the lake near Tursh here in the west. Halp and the Field Thief - As Halflings go, Halp Grimbo is fairly typical. He is of average build, lives in an average home, and loves his average wife. The only thing he truly excels at is farming. Vanguard Races

Races of Thestra Thestran Human As the dominant race on Thestra, the influence of the humans spans the entire continent. They may lack the size of the lesser giants, the life span of the elves, or the sturdy resilience of the dwarves; but they make up for it with an overwhelming desire to succeed, an unwavering tenacity, and, perhaps most importantly, the ability to adapt. While New Targonor is the pinnacle of human civilization, most prefer rural settings such as the verdant vistas of Tursh. Starting location: Tursh Village Dwarf Master craftsmen and fierce warriors, the dwarves of Thestra live in the underground city of Bordinar's Cleft, deep in the Widows Veil Mountains. They currently stand at the front line of the undead invasion, with the humans and halflings lending what little support they can spare. While often viewed as grumpy and dour by the other races, dwarves actually have a very good sense of humor and an unwavering sense of loyalty once they are befriended. Starting location: Bordinar's Cleft Halfling Short, sturdy and amicable, the halflings of Thestra seem to be bothered the least by the problems of the other races. For nearly a thousand years, they have lived alongside the humans, and the two races interact and work together more harmoniously than any others on Thestra. While the majority of halflings choose to stay close to their homes in Rindol Field, it is not uncommon to see them in adventuring parties traveling across the continent. Starting location: Tursh Village High Elf Noble, beautiful, and arrogant, the majestic high elves have helped define Thestran civilization for centuries. After the great breaking nearly a thousand years ago, the elves were hurt the most of all the races. With their cities destroyed along with much of their population, the elves retreated into the relative safety of the elven forest. Though the ensuing wars have made the rebuilding process slow, Leth Nurae has grown and flourished into a haven for elvenkind. Starting location: Leth Nurae Vulmane The savage and wolf-like vulmane roamed Thestra in packs for thousands of years before establishing their city of Dahknarg in the southern highlands. They are all too familiar with war, having undergone constant skirmishes with the high elves to the west and the more feral tribes -who reject the new ways of the civilized vulmane. They are a proud and dignified people who commune with their ancestral spirits, fearing only the unseen forces lurking in the swamps to the south. Dahknarg Varanjar The varanjar, or barbarians as they are called by many, are closely related to the varanthari. Larger and stronger than humans, these descendents of the varansul remain similar to their ancestors. Varanjar are the most populous race in eastern Thestra, and their home city of Halgarad is the most defensible stronghold outside of New Targonor. The varanjar share their city with the lesser giants, who have recently been displaced from their home at Falgarholm. Halgarad Lesser Giant Towering over all of the other races of Thestra are the lesser giants. As the largest and strongest race on Thestra, they are often looked upon by others with a sense of awe and bewilderment. They are not often found outside of their mountain home of Halgarad; though they only recently took refuge there with the varanjar barbarians, having lost control of their ancestral home. The lesser giants are wary of other races, having been betrayed one too many times. mp3 player Halgarad Races of Kojan Kojani Human Humans came to the Kojani Archipelago in an effort to establish a large sea empire. Cultivating a culture of unity and devotion to family, Emperor, and Empire, the Kojani have created a unique environment for themselves within the feudal city of Tanvu. Deeply spiritual and introspective, the Kojani draw deeply from the life-force known as Jin. world of warcraft gold Taciturn, inscrutable, and honest, Kojani find themselves trusted and respected by other races, but rarely loved. Shang Village Wood Elf Wood elven society demands perfection, and so this graceful, austere race delivers it. Wood elves were drawn to the forests of Kojan centuries ago where they developed a culture that is entirely their own. wow Young wood elves are driven to succeed in all their endeavors, and they fiercely protect their tree city of Ca'ial Brael, along with all the flora and fauna of the forest. They carry with them a profound distrust of outsiders and remain very reclusive. Ca'ial Brael Half Elf Born of the union between wood elves and kojani humans, half-elves find themselves living along the outskirts of both societies. wow gold By making their way in the world, half-elves feel at home in any place and within almost any culture. Half-elves can range from noble warriors to despicable black-marketers. Stronger than their elven parents and wiser and more in tune with nature than their human parents, the half elf has many of the best features of both races. wow gold Shang Village Orc Brutal and destructive, the orcs of the Kojani Archipelago are terrors of the seas. These savage raiders and their goblin cousins would pose a major threat to the whole of Telon if not for the animosity among their own clans keeping them in check. The orcs and their goblin clansmen hold a deep spiritual link with their ancestral spirits. wow gold Orcs have been feared and hated by most races across Telon ever since their devastating invasion of the continent of Thestra in the not too distant past. Grimsea Watch Goblin Sinister and devious, the goblins of the Kojani Archipelago are practitioners of magic without equal.

The Complete Prospector

Prospecting is by far the most profitable of all the resource gathering professions. This is because metals have side a wide range of uses. Tailoring, Woodworking, Metalsmithing, Jewelrycrafting, Weaponsmithing all have some (and often all) recipes which use metals. This is probably the profitable of all professions relative to time spent, since you don't have to do spend time doing crafting quests, or buying recipes, or anything else. When prospecting, follow these basic rules: Leaving an iron node of any sort ungathered when soloing is a sin. It is simply too valuable to pass buy unless you will die if you try to collect it. Never sell refined ingots, always sell the base smelted metal. When your specifically prospecting (not questing, etc. ) just mine. Don't get distracted. Get a horse as soon as possible. These steps are key to successful and rapid prospecting. Ideally, by 35th level, you should be able to know where all the ore is in an area, and travel from one to the other on your horse, and be able to collect about 100 ore in about an hour. The reason for this grinding is simple. Ore is very valuable, and in very high demand. A simple stack of 50 Dwarf-iron ingots sell in the auction house for 1 gold piece. Silver sells for a fortune too, as does Rich Iron and others (none as much as Dwarf-iron though. Your money is made (and your crafting sped up if you have another craft that uses metal) by your skill at prospecting quickly The Recipes The recipes you can use as a prospector are used in a variety of crafts. Certain woodworking crafts use the, as do a few of the tailoring recipes. Of course metalsmithing, jewelrycrafting and weaponsmithing all use lots of ore. There are certain complications in some of these recipes, based upon complications in crafting. For example, bronze is made of both tin and copper, used for tier 1 metalsmithing, while copper is used for just jewelrycrafting. This can make one wonder what to make. In general, make metals in their original state. Almost always, someone has more use for based ingots rather than alloys or refined ingots. All recipes have a 6% chance of having a critical result once you have achieved mastery in a tier, and a critical gains you 3 rather than 1 products (or 5 for those that have 2 ingots as a result of a normal recipe. ) For tier 4 and higher ore, you must go to Thorin's Hall or have a high level of reputation with the Rivendell Elves or Forochel, since these three places have superior forges (and only Thorin's Gate has public forges). " "Crafting in Middle Earth is a complex, usually fun and often profitable system which has genuine rewards for members of the Free People who learn to craft, and those who purchase their wares. Some of the best wares you can make as a crafter in Lord of The Rings Online are mastery items. Mastery items occur infrequently, but using special trophies, magical enhancements and high quality tools can increase the chance of you making a mastery item to well over 50% per attempt. For selling finished products in the auction house, being able to create mastery items is an absolute must. The Basics Crafting is simple to understand, though it has many possible complexities to achieve specific goals. Basically all professions have 5 tiers of craftsmanship, these being Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert, Artisan and Grand Master. Each tier is divided into proficiency and mastery. buy wow gold Proficiency allows you to make items of that tier and reach proficiency of the next tier, mastery allows you to make mastery items for that tier and reach mastery of the next tier. How Mastery Works. Mastery items are improved versions of regular items of the same tier. cheap wow gold For example, you might make a set of Heavy Bronze Boots if you follow the appropriate recipe without getting a critical success, but if you successfully “roll” a critical success, you will get Hardened Bronze Boots. The Hardened Boots are better armor and provide better statistic bonuses. In addition, these mastery items often are of “tough” durability, meaning they take less damage in combat, reducing repair costs. mp3 Without any other bonuses, one has a 5% chance to gain a critical success when making an item. You must, as mentioned, have reached completed mastery level of proficiency in the tier of the item you wish to make (I. e. wow gold both anvils are filled in on your crafting screen). Gathering Professions In the case of all the gathering professions except farming, you only have a 5% chance of gaining a critical success, and this cannot be improved by using trophies, scrolls (magical enhancement) or better tools. In each case with these professions, you gain three processed resources rather than one with a critical mastery affect. wow gold For example, normally making a boiled medium leather recipe gives you a single boiled medium leather out of two medium hides. A critical success gains you three boiled medium leathers rather than one. In the case of all resource professions, including farming, there are no magical scrolls available to improve your critical chance, and special tools increase the speed at which you do your resource gathering work rather than the likelihood of you getting a critical success. wow gold With the gathering profession farming, you can ensure you get a critical success. In the case of farming, a critical success means you create a superior crop, which provides more crops and rarely unique crops such as onion peels (which are used for making dyes by the scholar profession) To ensure you gain a critical success with farming, you must purchase and use improved soil additives, such as the soil of Rivendell.
